I have 3 iSeries running ERP8.0

All of them have the same scheduled jobs at the same intervals.

All of them seem to have the same settings in the server jde.ini file.

ONE of them today almost reached 100% of disk space usage.

The reason was that i suddenly found out that his JDEB7334 directory contains JDE_xxxx.LOG files that are not small like the other servers have, but are GB !!!!

I found out that these files are being generated when the Services go down every night for backup.

The same procedure exists in the other 2 servers BUT they do NOT generate huge log files.

What could be the cause of this?

This is one example file

I am trying to get a sample form the log file to upload here...

I would assume that whatever script is stopping your services, aren't completely killing them on that 1 server - and you're seeing the results of one of the kernels.

However, get a sample of whatever message is being repeated - so we can identify exactly what it is.

Here you go.

Also there is a Windows Batch Server ROBATCH that he is hjaving his services down also...

So it would probably be a jdenet that is looking for his friends....

Seems that the UBE Kernel is running - when you kill the services, is there a UBE job still running ? If so, it'll have issues trying to communicate to other kernels, etc - and will cause a huge amount of output to the log files. Likely is that you have some scheduler job kicking off at about the same time that you bring down services.

Yes there is a schedule that runs every 3 minutes, BUT this schedule exists in all 3 servers and they others DO NOT generate huge error logs.

All 3 servers have a schedule for 24x7 every 3 minutes and they all end services at the same time every day...

Is there any schedule kernel log flag or something?

Also one differnece is that this report in the system that has the problem has OCM to run on the Batch server not the AS400...
