Has anyone tried applying the new pre-req. ESU? If so, what were the
results...were there any major difficulties in the process?

Leah,

I have downloaded both the new prerequisites (and the extra little one for
B4301080 that was missed off), merged, packaged and deployed them to a test
machine. So far so good ....

Regards,

Graham.

Hi Graham, I thank you very much for posting a response to my question. Today we are downloading the ESU etc. and packaging for deployment to beta on Monday. Have you found anything new in your testing? Have you run into any difficulties with custom code?

Hi,

May i ask you, if it's possible for you to send me some data on the
result of the ESU installation.

By the way do you use the transportation module ?

best regards

As yet no problems but testing is in its early stages. It's a case of so far
so good. On the subject of custom code we have very little so no problems
are anticipated.

What I should have added was to mention that there is an optional ESU
3600491 which has a single object B4301080 that you may need. if you are
using PO receipts. I advise checking out the Additional Information for Post
Install Instructions for ESU 4605023 document on the Breaking News section
on the Knowledge Garden as this saved me a lot of messing about with the ESU
instructions due to the fact we only use domestic language

Something that may be of interest ...

I was asked by our finance team to download and apply ESU 4582263 which I
did on the morning of 16th November. The instruction on the documentation
specified 4116422 required which we have had since May. I merged, packaged
and deployed the ESU for testing and the user came back and asked if I had
done it properly, which I had i.e. no errors on any of the reports etc. Her
reason for asking was that the ESU had not had any effect on her issue. She
then reported it to JDE who asked me to forward all the merge, package build
and deployment reports/logs. I did this, they said they were OK and passed
the call to Denver. Next thing I get a message asking if I had installed the
new prerequisite 4605023. I said no because it was not available until
later that same day (UK time). Then I'm told that the documentation for
4582263 had been changed to say that 4605023 was a prerequisite after all.

I always get the ESU documentation printed first before merging it so that
the user who requested it can see the objects affected by applying it. This
helped to prove that JDE ESU's are a constantly moving target. Who said
System Administration was easy.
