Default Printer?

I am having trouble getting the default printer to "hold". I can go in and
set a default printer for a user but when I go to submit a job there is not
default printer.

Please help! We are going live on 1/2/2001!

Make sure that the printer is defined as a default for the server that you
are submitting to. If you have multiple Enterprise servers that you submit
to you will need multiple default records. You also must define the printers
based on user. I do not think that you can use group. Also, make sure the
default record is active.

Look at the OS/400 job log when something runs. I don't know why but we
have had confusion on our system with OCM and the file that holds the
printers. (Maybe the JDE doc or default was not quite right?) I believe
they switched from using F986161 to F986167 at some point and the OCM was
not brought along with that.

I bet you will see a message in the job log about the file that holds the
printer defaults/setups not being found. The correction lies in the OCM
for that file being present and correct.
