One of my reports is to be printed in Arabic, and the letter ي is shown as a box character. I tested with adding ConvertToASCII=1 in UBE section in my work station. Any other alternatives for printing complex languages ?

Hi,

Please, try opening Notepad on the Enterprise server (it's a Windows machine, isnt't it?), choose the same font as your report then type this particular Arabic character and print this document to the same printer as JDE does. Is the output OK?

Hi Sebastian,
Even the generated PDF shows the character as box symbol.
I think, it is the issue with JDE processing. I can also type the same character on the PDF file and can also print the file without issues.

Hi,

What happens if you run this same report locally (on a developer PC)?

The same. Please have a look at the attachment.

Rauf and others,

When submitting a UBE for a character based language, do we need to setup the UBE to be run for that specific character set (CCSID)?

Not the solution, just a guess - Review The App P93081:
- E1: UPG: Upgrade from EnterpriseOne Xe to 9.0 - Arabic Language Considerations - AS400 Platform (Doc ID 1077825.1)

I really am not sure if changing the CSSID to match the Arabic Character set will resolve the issue - it's more of a hunch.
