Hi List,

We are attempting do a tools upgrade using Server manager to 9.1.5.3 on iSeries. When we do the Change component, it fails and the smagent log says it failed to delete /E910SYS

The smagent is running with the user JDE, which does not have JDE system library in its library list. It has all the authorities similar to QSECOFR.

We are able to manually delete the folder /E910SYS by the user JDE after logging on to Navigator. We also made sure there are no locks on IFS folders or any of the libraries.

Has anyone seen this recently? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Does the agent job log give you any clues? Have you verified that there are no locks on any objects in E910SYS?

Hi fady,

Thanks for the reply, the agent job log says it failed to delete /E910SYS, but we have made sure that there are no locks on IFS or the libraries. Also when we try to manually delete /E910SYS after taking a backup, it deletes without any issues.

Thanks

Any chance logs and lck files are currently being written somewhere beneath that directory (like jderoot, jas etc.)?

Hi Craig,

The logs are lck files do get written under the /JDE910 folder, but the services are not even up when we attempt the upgrade.

Thanks
