STOT Transfer Orders

Is anyone succesfully using STOT orders? We manufacture in one location (currently) and ship to a number of distribution & sales locations. I had hoped that I could set up STOT for the distribution locations so they could order items and start the fullfillment process in a single step. But there appear to be a number of serious weaknesses in STOT (P4242). 1) P4242 creates and SO and a PO, but does not create a WO. As we make to order, that savings in not entering the PO are offset by having to enter the WO. 2) So, how does anyone know the ST order has been created at the manufacturing end? I do see a DW selection to 'print the pick slip', but can find no doc as to how to make this actually happen.

I work as JDE Mfg BA for several manufacturing facility and we constantly use ST/OT but the main usage of this merely to make transfer of good from one point to another, the doc type depends greatly if it is a internal movement to other mfg facilities or dc's. In my experience you can not create WO but you can create from the received product WO's using certain programs.

I have a similar issue. We are using the STOT process to ship from out warehouse to projects, however, we are looking for a mechanism where we can get the project themselves can request the parts via a Sales Requisition which would translate into the ST process. Is there such a functionality?
