Power Form Problem - Reusable Edit Subform - Won't save records on first attempt

I have a very simple Reusable Edit Subform embedded as a subform alias in a power edit form. The subform is bound to a business view with a grid and a "Save" button. I have "Update on form/business business view" checked on the subform. All key fields from the table/bv are in the grid. When I add records into the grid including valid key field values and hit the save button, nothing happens. If I hit the save button a second time the records are saved to the table and the grid is cleared. Why do I have to hit the save button twice? What am I doing wrong?

I have played around with the various transaction settings but that doesn't seem to do anything.

*sigh*

Never mind. I am an idiot.
The subform was throwing a warning that the parent form was simply blowing past and doing its save/close.
