JDE Version Upgrade but will ESU fixes be in next release(s)?

Hi,

We have JDE 9.0 with 300 ESUs applied and we are looking to go to either 9.1 or 9.2 (thats not the topic for discussion here). There is a question around the following as we accept some items may change but will the 9.1 / 9.2 code set include say 9.0 UL2 code + all ESUs released up to a specific cut off date? Part of what we deliver has to be the current functionality and we don't want to have to look at every ESU/BUG combo in 9.0 to cross check if its included in 9.1 etc

1/ Preserving functionality that was delivered in ESUs we installed (New Row Exit etc)
2/ Preserving BUG Fixes

Question is how can we ensure that the new version we upgrade to (It will be a new parallel install and then data/object migration) contains all previous Oracle fixes up to a point and then we can check any ESUs outside this date and confirm if its included or we need a 9.1 / 9.2 ESU

Bug fixes are applied across supported releases but code cut off can be a bit confusing. So basically, if you identify a bug in 9.0 and Oracle identify the same bug in 9.1 then they will release a fix for both versions. In respect to 9.2, the bug fixes will be in the main code set however once they entered code cut off for the 9.2 release it then depends on the nature of the bug as to whether it is included or you need to take an ESU for the fix.

Either way, assuming you go patch current with 9.1 or 9.2 on install then you would expect that all bugs that have been fixed in 9.0 have also been fixed in your new system. That of course doesn't mean you shouldn't test because they may have been "fixed" differently plus there will be a whole set of new bugs for the new release.

Enjoy your upgrade and good luck with your choice between 9.1 or 9.2. If you have a lot of mods I'd suggest you go with 9.1 but if your system if fairly vanilla then I'd say it makes sense to wait for the 9.2 release which isn't far off.
