Hello list,

We are on 8.10, targeting 9.0 in the coming months. We have about 100 retail stores that we may want to integrate with JD EDwards. We would like to know if any of you have use a POS with JD Edwards. If yes, which one?

We are looking to manage mainly inventory, sales orders, pricing related to these Sales, credit, discount, customer database, in real time.

If any you as quality infos, it will be very welcome.

Regards,

Eric

We've used a couple of POS systems, RMS by Msft and Versapos by Systime. We're in the process of moving all of our stores to VPOS because they offer an "integration" server that will take care of pushing data between the two systems.

RMS is probably the better of the two purely as a POS but we had issues with the structure of the two item masters being different enough that it always led to challenges for our end users. You'd have to build the integration pieces all on your own. I know of two companies (mine being one) that looked at the problem and decided changing POS's was easier than creating the integration pieces.

VPOS does what we need for our operations and the Systime people have been very accomodating about including our requirements in future releases. VPOS is just now getting a PCI compliant version into the market, so they are a little behind the curve there. That release is supposed to be available this month.

We're passing item, pricing, sales, tender, and customer information between the two systems. By and large, the integration piece works fairly smoothly. If there is a hiccup, people or comm is usually a factor.

Hi Eric:

I think you are looking for someting like smartcommerce POS from The Premier Group. They have a very good solution for your request.

Try it www.premierway.com

Fauberte,

A key decision criteria that may want to consider in driving the options the selection of the best option is the aspect of real-time versus store and forward for store-level information.

If you plan to have store operate fairly independently in an offline mode with periodic sync back to JDE, solutions like RMS and VersaPOS and others may be appropriate. If you desire to manage all inventory real-time with common set of business login in JDE for pricing, availability and cross-store functionality, you will likely find the SmartCommerce POS a more appropriate solution. Best of luck in your search efforts.

Fermin.

Kyle,
Our company is just exploring use a POS system. We are looking for inventory and sales integration with JDE World. Is VPOS still the best solution for JDE users?
