Problem with Table Conversion

Hello all,
Once again I need some help from you guys on Table Conversion. I have tried to Transfer data from a table to a text file, with delimeter ','. I have made a user defined format for the output file, modeled on the Table from which I am retrieving the data. But alas, I get no result.
In the Mapping section, I get only 1 TextLine, even though I have used a user defined format. Therefore I cannot do any mapping. I have been playing around with it; making User defined Format for the Input table also, as well as concatenating all the fields together......but it is a bit frustrating.
Can you help me on this plz?
Regards,
Hemant
PS: About my TC problem on PSE1, well the Peoplesoft guys are working on the version we have. It seems to be a technical problem. So, I thank all of you who have generously advised me and helped me. I hope that the PS people will be able to solve this problem soon

Hello Guys,
Thanks for all the help. Finally TC is working on PSE1. Firstly, I should have used the P93081 application to convert my text file into unicode. I was saving my text file as Unicode in notepad, but this did not work. Better leave that to the P93081 application and save your file in ANSI.
When this was resolved, I realised that I needed an ODBC connection for my file location. In JDE local, the demo version, my default location was Local, but on PSE1, it was not the case. Since I did not have the rights to create a Data Source or an Environment, I got somebody higher up to do this for me.
Finally when I executed the Batch application Locally, it worked.
All this time I was searching in the jde.log and jdedebug.log, in the PrintQueue directory; I could not debug my program.
So thanks to all of you for your support.
Regards,
Hemant

Hi,

I havn't gone thro' all the post regarding this issue but Still I assumed that are having problem in conversion.Im not sure which version ur in ,

Case1:
If your in ERP8.9 you have unicode problem.
P93081 is the application there you need setup for IBM-37.

Case2:
In Demo Junior most of times conversion wont work.

I do hope this might be helpful .

I have problem with Table Conversion

From Flat file to EnterpriseOne Tables
1) Why do I need to use Unicode for my flat file before I can insert into the EnterpriseOne Table?

2) But after I use Unicode for my flat file, I got this error:

From jde.log:

Hello,
I use Peoplesoft EnterpriseOne 8.1. In the beginning when I was trying to perform a data conversion from a text file to a table in EnterpriseOne, I was saving my file in ANSI, that's why Table conversion was not working. The P93081( Work with Flat File) is used to tell EnterpriseOne in which format your file has been saved. In this way, everytime you run your batch application, it knows how to read it. I saw that your application was reading -,"2415 "," . When you get the '', this indicates that it is not reading data rightly.
When you run the P93081 application, add an entry for your Table Conversion Batch Application, the version you are using, and select the Encoding name. For text files saved in ANSI, use the CP1252 Encoding Name.
When you are done, activate your entry by selecting Row->Change status.
Then you can go to BV, execute your application, but while submitting, check the 'Overide Location' and 'Properties' options. When you are selecting your Data Source, choose local.
In the properties, set your debug level to 10; in this way you will be able to know where your application messed up.
When you are done, TC.exe should pop up in your tray bar, indicating that Table Conversion is up and running. If you have any problem, you can also check your application's log in the PrintQueue directory.
I hope this will help you. I am a newbie to JD Edwards and Peoplesoft myself, and I have just got Table Conversion to work OK.
Regards,
Hemant

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! It works REAL good!!
=)

Same as you, i'm quite new to JDE, it's my first time doing Table Conversion.. it's quite a challenge to use JDE..

Once again, Thank You, Hemant and JDELIST!
