JDeveloper install path error

HI,

I have DEMO E900|8.98.42 installed on my laptop which runs Windows Vista Business and the install is quite stable.

I downloaded JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0 recently (no beating up for not checking the compatibility please

)and created a BSSV object in OMW and when tried to check-in the object I get the JDeveloper install path validation error. The path setup in jde.ini is C:\Oracle\Middleware which shows up on the Install Path screen but the validation fails althought the jdeveloper.exe is present in c:\Oracle\Middleware\JDeveloper. Also in the MTR section of the jde.ini the JDeveloper version is setup as 11.1.2.3.0 and I tried to change this setup to 11.1.2 etc. but the system does not get through. Interestingly, when I try to design the object and invoke JDeveloper, I click OK on the path and after error cancel out and JDeveloper gets invoked but does not show up the project (I guess it will not unless the object is checked in).

Any clue on how to trace the possible issue using logs would be highly appreciated. Which log file and what section and how to setup that section.

Thanks in advance.

Vinjay.

Use WLS. Not getting much help from JDE debug log (which reported Microsoft Error 2) and suspecting potential compatibility issue, I downloaded JDeveloper 10.3.5.0.4306. The DEMO installation invokes JDeveloper from within OMW as expected now. Thanks. Vinjay.
