On a humorous but sincerely serious note, we discovered one feature of our upgrade of World Writer to the year 2003.
If no detail records are found, World Writer saves paper and does not print even one page of header title and columns.
Evidently many customers were upset with this enhancement to save paper, so cumulative release 15 (circa 2006), the header page will again print.
But we are not ready to upgrade that far!

No Report when No Records
If no records match the criteria for the World Writer report, you will receive a joblog stating that there were no records found but will not receive a no report.
To fix this issue you will need to download Update 7487405
After applying the SAR 6942015, we no longer get a report when there are no records matching the criteria for the World Writer report. Is this a new feature?

Symptoms
Report headings are not appearing on my report if the report selects no data.
This issue happens after applying the software updates for V5R2 or V5R3. It is also an issue in A7.3 Service Pack 15 and A8.1 Service Pack 6.
There are Software Updates to fix this problem. Download from the Update Center:
FOR A7.3:
>> The single-byte number to download is 7487405
>> The double-byte number to download is 7487413
Clients who are at A7.3.15 or who have applied A736942015 (sb) or A736942023 (db) can take the download. There are a couple of special instructions to perform. These may be applied while users are signed on.
FOR A8.1
>> The single-byte number to download is 7487421
>> The double-byte number to download is 7487430
Clients who are at A8.1.6 or who have applied A816942031 (sb) or A816942040 (db) can take the download.
There are a couple of special instructions to perform. These may be applied while users are signed on.
