E9.2 ExtendedCost/ExtendedPrice Edit Check - Not allowing zero or negative

I have built a custom application with simple headerless detail over custom table. There are no relevant ER on the form. When trying to update ECST or AEXP data item with a zero or negative value, I am finding that the value does not update and, when exiting line, the value is reverted back to original. With the lack of any edit rules directing this check, I am at a loss. DD Definition also does not appear to disallow a zero or negative value. Can anyone advise why this is happening?
